What Legal Mistakes Do We All Make, Although We Shouldn't?
Updated: May 21
1. We don't read what we sign. Many people sign contracts without fully reading them or without understanding their terms and conditions. You could end up with hidden costs or unwanted commitments. At Docs & Deeds we ensure that all contractual clauses are checked.
2. We don't know our rights. Most abuses or unfair demands happen because those who accept them don't know their rights. When you have legal problems, ask a lawyer and you'll be surprised to discover how they can be resolved.
3. We have too much trust. Other legal mistakes take place when you engage in verbal agreements. No matter how much you trust your clients or partners, put everything in writing.
4. We use unchecked contracts. Get your business contracts in order, so that you have no surprises. Unclear clauses are the source of most litigation between professionals.
5. We lend money to friends or family without formal documentation. Informal loans can create misunderstandings and legal conflicts if not properly documented. Unfortunately, friends or family often surprise us in this regard, but we continue to do the same.
6. We ignore legal notices. We don't like bills, fines, notices, and the like, so we often leave them forgotten on some desk. This is how we end up paying late penalties or losing certain rights.
7. We don't check the websites from where we buy. We're not just talking about the applicable terms, which are probably only read by the person who wrote them. But the online store itself is not verified, and then we find ourselves with purchased and undelivered products.
